Family Services and Activities
SUNDAY CLUB PLUS+
St Francis Sunday Club Plus+ is for older children from 10 years (Year 5) upwards and is on Sunday mornings at 10.30am in the Church Hall during term time. The sessions include more in-depth discussion than Sunday Club but there is still lots of fun with Bible based learning and activities. The children go into the church to join in the end of the service each week and talk about what they have learnt.
Family Services are usually held once a month, except in August and are open to all ages. The service is very child friendly and interactive, but there is also an area at the back of the church with toys, colouring and books where children can play during the service. Other services which may appeal to families are on Mothering Sunday, Easter Sunday (with an egg hunt), Harvest Festival and the very popular Crib Service and Christingle on Christmas Eve.
St Francis Junior Choir welcomes children from the age of 6 years
and meets in the Church each Thursday in term time from 6- 6.50pm.
The club is run by a professional singing teacher and combines good
vocal technique, a wide range of music and plenty of fun! The children
are required to sing at the Family Service and there is the opportunity
to participate in community fund-raising and an informal annual concert.
St Francis runs a full programme of social events, with 3 social events each year open to all children and 2 outings organised for the older children (Year 6 upwards). In addition, there are always children’s craft activities and games at the Summer Fair and a Christmas Fair, which always features Father Christmas in his grotto.
