Petts Wood Junior Community Choir
After five fabulous years, the Junior Choir perform for the last time on Mothering Sunday. I am so pleased to have had the privilege of running this group and to have met so many children and parents along the way. Over the time we have had over 30 members, some of which have been with us from day one. I would like to thank all the parents / carers for their support over the years and all the children and young people for their lovely singing. Of course, in addition to singing at the regular family services, there have been many social events. These include: the Summer “picnic in the park”; special services for visiting dignitaries including the Patronal Festivals and the induction of Fr Stephen; the Nine Lessons and Carols – a joyous joint festive occasion with the senior choir; the annual charity carol singing - raising over £3,000 for Demelza Children’s Hospice; various concerts including one in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee. Whilst this sees the end of the Junior Choir in its current format, “when one door closes, another one opens”. I am pleased to inform you of an exciting new initiative - the Petts Wood Junior Community Choir will be coming soon (see advert). I would like to end with a heartfelt “thank you” to all involved over the years and, in particular, all the choristers for the joy they have brought to us all.
